About Us

PDD has a manufacturing base in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco, and sources all its materials from local vendors. Everything they make comes from their own studio. True to form, and a testament to the unique use of space and material, PDD’s studio is a small, upcycled 20-foot shipping container. At the heart of PDD is its manufacturing process – utilizing the best of human craftsmanship with precision machine tooling. At the end of the day, it is this process, where we use the best of human craftsmanship and the best of robotics/machine technology, that enables us to make unique, beautiful pieces that are affordable without being mass produced. That’s the secret sauce!

Mohit Mankar: Founder

Born in Sharjah, Mohit grew up in Mumbai, in a family of architects and designers. He was diagnosed with dyslexia at an early age, but that didn’t stop Mohit from experimenting with the 3D objects that he imagined. He was always trying to bring them to life --- with Lego sets and drawing pencils.

While Mohit’s major was economics, he has completed courses at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, learning metal working, wood working and digital design and fabrication. After an 8-year stint in the financial sector in NYC, Mohit moved to San Francisco and decided to start his own venture. Combining his financial acumen with his creative talent and passion for design, architecture, metal and wood. Mohit enjoys traveling --- visiting urban and natural spaces --- both of which inspire his design ideas.
